For some time, this band has been touted as one of the next best things to come out of Australia. You Am I’s Davey Lane, together with Johnny T and Luke Thomas, form a tight and uncompromising group built around a pure rock sound. It’s one of the more driving, fresh records you’ll hear from an Australian band this year, and elevates the band’s status significantly. Davey has taken his time out from You Am I and applied his experience in creating a new energetic rock outfit. The band selected a new label and distributor and the total freshness of their sound is appealing. Take their single ‘Pissin’ With The Catman’, a local radio favourite, as a worthy track, as well as ‘See You Home Tonight’ and ‘Stupid Me’, and you get a good idea of the band’s dynamic nature. This should just be a warm-up to bigger things.
