Melbourne band The Solomons are coming on in leaps and bounds. This is their debut six-track EP and we‘d already liked their previous work. The melodic music, driven by guitar sounds, comes from a band which is maturing all the time, refining the sound, and is catchy and edgy. Tracks I hadn't heard before include 'Evening’s Empire’, and it has a lot of oomph, with a terrific vocal effort from Cass Allan. The song ‘Ways To Escape’ has a notable British sound, but very effective in the pop style with worthy guitar and keyboards driving the song. The whole package is an enjoyable listen. The band is very cohesive and capable in their musicianship. It augers well for the future. Watch for their continued development. They are an intriguing group with much to offer.
