In a fascinating move, this band brings together the songwriting duo of that fine UK band Suede - Bernard Butler and Brett Anderson. This album is produced by Butler and executive produced by Anderson. It‘s quite a big effort on their part. These new compositions are not mind-blowing but solid enough and certainly not in the league of what Suede produced. Still, there are some very good moments, such as 'Brave New Cebtury’, ‘Imperfections’, and ‘Autographs’, with its beautiful harmonica part. This record does suggest, though, that should the band remain coherent and united (they are now older and wiser, you'd think), there should be plenty of scope for riveting music.
