The Ten Tenors

With a recording process taking in 87 musicians from the London Philharmonic Orchestra and music icon John Barry, Abbey Road studios set the scene for the Ten Tenors to work on their depth and strength of talent as individuals and as a group. This new album certainly has the John Barry cinemascopic feel and accordingly seven of the twelve tracks are wonderful interpretations of film theme songs. Amongst them are ‘We Have All The Time In The World’ (by Louis Armstrong, from Her Majesty‘s Secret Service), 'You Only Live Twice’ - another James Bond classic, Queen‘s 'Who Wants To Live Forever’, and the theme from “Dances With Wolves”. Nicholas Dodd conducts the orchestra and co-ordinates the arrangements expertly. The group has come a long way since their early days in Brisbane and now tour the world for most of the year. This is another excellent piece in their history.
