:: The Wreckers - Stand Still Look Pretty

The Wreckers

The Wreckers is a duo comprising two talented music performers by the names of Michelle Branch and Jessica Harp. We'd already known the immense music ability of Michelle through her solo work in the early part of the decade. With her friend, Jessica, this is a modern pop-country recording of really enjoyable tracks. The melodic, harmony-laced sound give that Sheryl Crow feel which I enjoy, and the songs are well written and smartly arranged. Michelle has had a leaning towards writing about the behind the scenes moments in a relationship and her personal identity. Her musical partnership with Jessica allows a smooth, seemingly effortless set of rhythms. Listen out for mandolin, banjo, and fiddle, alongside the acoustic and slide guitars. Well respected musician John Leventhal is accomplished at setting up the instrumentation to back the stylish vocals that Michelle and Jessica exude. The harmonies are gorgeous - Michelle's sexy, husky voice has been one of my favourites in the last few years (her duet with Santana on “The Game Of Love” was fantastic). The album is consistently good all the way through and I hope that The Wreckers view this project as long term because they are capable of great things for a long time. And they can achieve a strong crossover from country into pop-rock also.
