:: The Wrights - Evie Parts 1, 2, & 3

The Wrights

The classic 1974 song by Stevie Wright is reborn by virtue of several of today’s well known Australian music identities getting together in a tribute to Stevie and the difficult times he’s had in his life. Those in the project are Nic Cester (from Jet), Chris Cheney (The Living End), Bernard Fanning (Powderfinger), Phil Jamieson (Grinspoon), Davey Lane (The Pictures/You Am I), and Pat Bourke (Grinspoon). Stevie’s old Easybeats mate Harry Vanda even had a hand in the production. It shows how united our music scene can be and The Wrights, honoured to be a part of this recreation of history, are true to the spirit of the 11-minute epic and do a worthy job. Proceeds are going to Stevie Wright, Red Cross, and the Salvation Army, who have done much to help Stevie in his times of need. This Australian supergroup of sorts deserves great credit. Watch for Nic Cester doing vocals on Part 1, Bernard Fanning doing Part 2, and Phil Jamieson on the rousing Part 3.
