:: The Zutons - You Can Do Anything

The Zutons

The Zutons provide much flair and talent in their musicianship and have been one of my favourite bands of recent years. The hook-laden sounds have set them apart from many other UK acts and endeared them to fans. This third album was recorded in Los Angeles; a matter of the band wanting to search for that something extra. However, the album didn't come about easily and main man Dave McCabe acknowledged the doubt. But he need not have worried too much. The Zutons are as bullish as ever, rekindling subjects from the previous album and showcasing McCabe's seedy imagination. “You Can Do Anything” again demonstrates the band's energy and vigour within the sarcastic sentiments. Not too many standout tracks but never a dull moment. The album even comprises a country croon “Little Red Door”. It's not hard to be swept along with The Zutons as they escape into their own clutches.
