An overriding sense of originality marks the interesting album by this NSW band. Thirsty Merc has emerged strongly in the last twelve months and the rock-pop treats delivered on this debut should ensure a healthy future. Lots of flavours are marked here: cool guitar riffs, plenty of hooks, ballads, and good time sounds bring an excellent collection to the point where their live shows are standing up fervently. The writing skills are incisive and clever. The first single “Emancipate Myself” signals the intent of the album in a strong commercial sound while other tracks “Hope”, “Everything But You” and “My Completeness” add to the quality. Thirsty Merc delivers impressively and are a band to watch closely.
