Slater proves himself to be more than capable of presenting his listeners with his talent for capturing life in words and sounds and making you feel as well as hear. Inside Out tells not just Salter’s life stories, but those that many could relate to-from mundane love dramas and feeling alone to the vibrancy of the city in which he lives. Slater cleverly delivers his stories inside melodic tunes and a voice which sits somewhere between James Taylor and Chris Isaak. It’s a diverse album which is sure to appeal to the likes of many, with a folky sound that is both relaxing and thought provoking.
