:: Tin Alley - Polar BearTin AlleyThis is a standard sample of radio-hungry rock, with the only defining characteristic being a dominating presence of guitars. Reminiscent of Green Day, Tin Alley combine commendably indistinct lyrics with singing guitars, whether it is the solid driving riffs in “Polar Bear” or dainty echoed finger-picking in “Scour the World”. The single track, “Polar Bear” is vigorous with a relatively catchy chorus; “there’s some in all of us/ truth or lie you pick the one”, but lacks in anything especially of substance. The inspired lyrics and slower, toned down nature of “Scour the World” suggests the band is potentially capable of more diversity and substance, as do some skillful solos in “In a Knot”. However none of the tunes are memorable enough to encourage repeated listening. “Polar Bear” is a potential C-list hit, but without denying their potential, it seems Tin Alley have got a bit further to come before they do anything miraculous. | ![]() |
