:: TISM – Everyone Else Has Had More Sex Than MeTISMThis is the first single released from TISM’s White Albun CD/DVD extravaganza. The radio edit included here has been remixed, jazzed up, and eighty-ised. It is a decent song, not the greatest song in the world, and isn’t even the greatest TISM song in the world – or this album. The catchy “I rooted a girl… who rooted Shane Crawford” would have seemed a more apt choice for a single than the quiet angst and insecurity of “Everyone”. Regardless, “Everyone” was the focus of TISM’s recent music video contest, where the general public was invited to create and submit their own music videos for the song, the winner becoming the ‘official’ music video. More than 50 entries were submitted, of widely varied quality. Two versions of the winning clip are included on the single as a CD-ROM feature. The clip chosen, consisting of a cute animated rabbit mouthing along to lyrics in desperation, is well animated, and the tear in his eye at the end of one version is a little effecting, and the TISM bunny that appears for the keyboard solo is funny. It has its moments. The clip has been featured on ABC TV show Rage and will be included in the second pressing of the White Albun. Including video clips on singles is a good trend, and it is appreciated that TISM did it with the work of this contest winner, Bernard Derriman – it is just a pity that some of the more interesting runners up didn’t make it instead. The leading runners up, all animated clips, are definitely worth checking out, and are currently featured on the Madman website | www.madman.com.au/tism/comp.html |
