:: Transtar - People Against The Sea

Transtar

In being introduced to this band’s sound for the first time, I find them pretty enterprising and talented. A good foundation is set for their pop-rock style and the work seems to have been well tuned over the last couple of years to reach this stage. All things considered, it should evolve to a worthwhile point in the years to come. This debut album was produced by ARIA-Award winning producer Wayne Connolly (You Am I, Powderfinger, Silverchair) at Sydney’s Paradise studios. ‘That Kind Of Boy’, the first single to be lifted from the album, has received good airplay. Wade Jackson looks to be a very capable vocalist where his range impresses between the soft and highly emotive reaches. Add to that, the use of keyboard, saxophone and piano, to give extra textures, and a good all-round sound is evident. The band has scored some notable radio airplay already and it will be interesting to see their live shows. Good prospects ahead.
