22-20s

This UK band created a frenzy prior to finally signing to Heavenly Records. Then, a bout of writer's block set in for a while until returning with a substantial release in this self-titled album. These are a set of songs telling of human imbalances and uncertainty. The music is quite dark and thought-provoking. It's just what sets the band apart from most others at the moment. They allow some space in the sound and seem to play effortlessly. The gutsy guitar work is well complemented by the addition of keyboards for this album. Having played on the blues scene for a time previously, there are notable influences in their stripping back to the basics in their song structures. Therefore, the album is most enjoyable for the most part although a few songs could have benefited further with additional instrumentation.
