:: U2 - How To Dismantle An Atomic BombU2If ever one thought this great band had outlived its usefulness, then have a good think about the absurdity of such a thought. U2 remains the utmost in professionalism and rock ideology and this album reminds us of their top-shelf status in world music. Already, the first single, “Vertigo”, demonstrated the distinct U2 structure, led by the brilliant rhythm section. Bono and The Edge do their bit in sparkling fashion too. Other notable and reflective songs are “Original Of The Species”, “Love And Peace Or Else”, both substantial in their shimmering perspectives, while “One Step Closer” delivers beautifully. It is centred around the death of Bono's father a few years ago. The band is in earnest, honest form and it is wonderfully poignant. Overall, this record shows that U2 is still a force and sets them up beautifully for another strong chapter in their fantastic career. | ![]() |
