This double CD features some of the classic ‘chick flick’ songs, such as If I Could Turn Back Time, This Will Be An Everlasting Love and Say A Little Prayer, however it is missing some crucial chick songs including I Will Survive. Despite that, there is a pleasing mix of modern songs and classics. Suddenly I See by KT Tunstall – made famous from ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ – is a preppy, feel-good song (as is Lily Allen’s Smile) and I’m Yours by Jason Mraz – from ‘Packed to the Rafters’ is a nice love ballad that serves as the perfect starting song. More upbeat songs such as Gia Farrell’s Hit Me Up, Girls Aloud‘s Jump and Robert Palmer’s Addicted to Love serve well and compliment the entire CD. Maroon 5, All Saints, Kelly Clarkson, Phantom Planet, Macy Gray and Snow Patrol all make appearances, and although at times songs such as Meredith Brooks’ Bitch seem random, nearly all of the other songs are positive chick songs. On the whole, the tone of the CD was pleasant, fun listening and is ideal for those long road trips with your best girl friends – crank it loud and sing into your mobiles!
