:: Van Sereno - PersistenceVan SerenoHere‘s an artist that should call it quits now before he truly embarrasses himself. With some of the lamest lyrics I've heard in ages…this is one CD best used as a drink's coaster or frisbee! No disrespect to Van Sereno, but when you start singing about text messages and emails, and then try to rhyme them…well, it can only end in disaster. For example, this gem found in 'Chill’, which reads like a 5-year old‘s sad storybook. “No we don't have to text message them again/ they'll be fine on their own with a map, initiative and phrasebook/ plus a compass comes in handy.” Or this woeful poetry piece found in the opening track 'Little Bonsai’. “What if I was a bonsai tree, and you were like a worker in the nursery.” Seriously, this is just lame! Coming off as nothing more than an Oz idol wannabe who just happens to play guitar is about all the information you need to know. Persistence? Try listening to this and see how far you get. | ![]() |
