This is the first compilation from Earshot Music – they’ve been behind the Ugly Duckling recordings – and it’s a worthwhile one too for the hip-hop fans. There are new and unreleased tracks from some of the underground scene’s exponents and may be seen as the real type of hip-hop. Jurassic 5 are at their best in “Verbal Gunfight”, thrusting their rhythms like there’s no tomorrow. The Hieroglyphics crew appears a few times and “Think Again” will stand out for many. Del the Funky Homosapien comes in with the title track and this will get the hips shaking quickly. Other tracks comprise Swollen Members, Dilated Peoples and Eminem crewmember Royce Da 5’9”. If you want hip-hop, this is a prize catch.
