The boys from Warped are back with their latest offering Quicker Ways to Blacker Eyes. Continuing their tradition of ripping rock, Warped belts out a scorching 12 tracks. QWBE is full speed ahead all the way, no looking back. So look out. ‘Steppin’ the f#*k out’ opens with blistering guitars and screaming before taking it down a few gears, only to unleash the rock beast again. A harmonica gives ‘Swing the lead’ a real country flavour without losing any momentum. The anthemic ‘Self made man’, with its ‘hey’ shouts is a song to get your lungs going. ‘Hell outta here’ is the standout track of the album and is Australian rock at its best. Refreshingly, Warped leaves the mimicking of 60’s and 70’s sounds to the rest of them and shows that their style of rock is a force to be reckoned with.
