:: Wolfmother - Wolfmother

Wolfmother

This has been a much-anticipated album from the high-flying band. After the success of their debut EP, Wolfmother has had extremely high expectations placed on the debut album. Their effort is top class, amongst Australia's best albums of 2005. From the opening riff of Colossal’ you’re taken on a unique trip into modern psychedelia. One of the highlight tracks is the first single ‘Mind’s Eye’, one that can long be remembered as uniquely Wolfmother. All the EP tracks have been re-recorded and given some additional oomph to produce new energy and a sound as fresh as the first time you listened to them. The track ‘Where Eagles Have Been’ shows their maturity as songwriters, and not simply riff-makers. You’ll notice various influences, such as Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, but add their own brand of ferocious rock and moody songwriting. Their live act continues to improve and the development should ensure that the band makes their mark strongly amongst Australia’s elite.
