The Zen compilation series has produced some excellent music in the global chilled, ambient style. We now reach the next compilation album, Zen Connection 4. It has been compiled by DJ/Producer, and founder of One World Music, Leigh Wood. It is beautifully packaged, like you’d see from Europe, and contains two discs. Disc 1 goes winding through an ambient, chilled journey. Its theme is “Nirodha” and takes us down a ride of sublime worldly treats, featuring mixes of artists such as Salmonella Dub, Bombay Dub Orchestra, and Banzai Republic. Disc 2 “Nirvana” winds up the tempo a notch or two through mid-range beats and quite exotic world flavours. Artists to note here include Amanaska, Naiad, and Frontera. The selection of tracks will invigorate those in the right mood for the right occasion. You will find something to savour. There is even a booklet inside that goes into the Zen philosophies, if that tickles your fancy. The musical content is good enough and stands up effectively.
