Once he became the first Australian to make the local charts in March, 1958 with ‘Wild One’, Johnny O'Keefe was set for stardom. He was a genuine rock and roll star in this country, being the performer with the most Top 40 hits in the history of Australian rock & roll, and having the charisma and presence to win over the public. He gave everything to his music.

Johnny O’Keefe: The Wild One – The Documentary has been specially released to coincide with the 30th anniversary of his untimely passing. His life and achievements are celebrated via candid interviews with his immediate family, friends and entertainment personalities.

As far as his performances are concerned, seventeen of Johnny's hits are featured, including “Shout (Parts 1 & 2)”, “The Wild One (Real Wild Child)”, “I'm Counting On You”, “Mockingbird”, and “So Tough”.

It is a worthy documentary and the interviews with key music industry figures tell us how revered and how good Johnny O'Keefe was.
