:: Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band - Tour 2003

Ringo and his all-star band has been a fixture on the European and USA circuit every few years during the past twenty years. This DVD marks his 2003 line-up and tour. The show in question is from Toronto, Canada in July. There are a few 80s names in this line-up, including Sheila E, John Waite, Paul Carrack and Colin Hay (Men At Work). It’s a great thing for fans to relive some of Ringo’s work, while he sits on the drums helping to belt out tunes by his guest vocalists and musicians.

It’s interesting to see the guests learn up Ringo’s songs, and the DVD tells of these rehearsal periods with all the laughs and talent to burn. In fact, there is much backstage footage. It’s terrific to see Colin Hay involved with Men At Work’s ‘Down Under’ and ‘Who Can It Be Now’ featured. Waite sings his high charting hit ‘Missing You’ and Sheila E does ‘Glamorous Life’. Ringo is in his element in belting out ‘It Don’t Come Easy’, ‘Boys’, ‘Yellow Submarine’, and ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’.

Ringo always relates with a joke and he is clearly having fun with his younger peers. He has nothing to prove and this is another excellent package of an All-Star Band North American tour, which was filmed for American television. It’s a record of a group of talented musicians enjoying themselves and putting on a good show.
