:: Rolling Stones - Live At The MaxThe masterful Rolling Stones were in concert in 1991 and this film was the first to be shot and presented in IMAX format. It has now been restored in High Definition to its original spectacular audio and visual clarity and available on DVD for the very first time. Filmed during the European leg of the Steel Wheels Tour 1989-1990 and contains fifteen songs and an extraordinary stage set with inflatable floozies (for “Honky Tonk Woman”) and wild dogs (for “Street Fighting Man”). The Stones‘ set emphasises material from the late 1960s and early '70s (“Tumbling Dice”, “Happy”, “You Can't Always Get What You Want”), Highlights include “Paint It Black”, at once brutal and delicate, as well as a muscular “Rock and a Hard Place”, “2,000 Light Years from Home”, “Ruby Tuesday” and “It's Only Rock 'n’ Roll”. While the TV set won‘t exactly capture the marvels of IMAX technology, you can still appreciate Live at the Max’s crisp picture and excellent audio quality. The “Live At The Max” footage is from five nights in July and August 1990 during the final leg of the Steel Wheels tour - from concerts staged in Turin, Italy; East Berlin, Germany and Wembley Stadium, London, England. Of course, the Rolling Stones have been the greatest rock 'n’ roll band and this is another brilliant set of performances. Track Listing |
