:: Party in the Paddock 2018

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

Tasmania’s biggest little festival Party in the Paddock is back in full force, with the Paddock seriously heating up for another ludicrously good time in 2018. With a reputation for bringing huge names to the little island, the 6th edition of Party in the Paddock is again set to take it up notch.

Kicking things off with their first ever official international headliner, they’ve invited one of Australia’s most loved bands to the apple isle and they’ve been itchin’ on this not-so-little secret… So listen up! Vibestown are stoked to announce that GROUPLOVE will be spreading the love at Party in the Paddock 2018!

With a reputation for consistently delivering one of the best live shows in the business, these L.A exports will be spreading their unmistakeable brand of infectious joy across the Paddock this February. Joining forces thanks to instant friendship in 2009, the five-piece have remained a standout act in the indie-rock scene.

Their 2011 EP ‘Never Trust A Happy Song’ saw them score a massive 3 placings in triple j’s Hottest 100 that year, with ‘Tongue Tied’, ‘Itchin’ on a Photograph’ and ‘Naked Kids’ sound-tracking BBQs nation-wide. The quintet’s second full length album, 2013’s ‘Spreading Rumours’, was met with a raft of acclaim from heavyweights like Rolling Stone, and epic track ‘Ways To Go’ racked up over 50 million plays on Spotify, hitting number 2 on the US Alternative Charts.

GROUPLOVE’s most recent offering ‘Big Mess’ brought us sing-a-long inducing bangers ‘Welcome To Your Life’ and ‘Do You Love Someone’ and has seen them take to stages at the likes of Coachella, Lollapalooza and Reading and Leeds in 2017… and now they’re heading to the Paddock!
