The ever-evolving boutique music festival Playground Weekender is taking over the The Del Rio Resort, just an hour and a half outside Sydney for the sixth consecutive year in 2012. Spanning three days, March 2, 3, and 4, the award winning festival boasts six stages and one of the most excitingly diverse line-ups on Australia’s festival circuit. This is a riverside retreat like no other.

The uniquely spectacular atmosphere of Playground Weekender thrives on the distinct festival experience created upon its inception. 2012 sees the festival alter it’s original lay out to better deliver other forms of Playground Weekender entertainment. For those familiar with the festival, the Big Top has moved closer to the main stage providing a more compact entertainment area. We are excited to fill the area left by the Big Top with a mix of a la carte restaurants and food offerings showcasing some of Sydney’s finest chefs, yoga, late night cinema, a beer garden with draught beer and other beverage delights. Alongside six stages showcasing the cream of local and international musicians, DJs and producers, PGWE’s trademark pop-up entertainment attractions make sure there’s never a dull moment, including the Permission to Shine Cabaret stage, roving entertainers, giant sized board games and for those looking to escape the heat, the ultimate Club Tropicana Pool Party.

The notorious Fancy Dress Saturday will be in full swing in 2012, having become an attraction in itself over the years. Hold on to your lycra seniors and senoritas as The Cuban Brothers are confirmed to host the Fancy Dress catwalk show. This wonderful weekend of eclectic music and entertainment, gourmet foods and beverages is capped with one of Australia’s most stunning backdrops of New South Wales’ Hawkesbury River. The anticipation is set for round six of Playground Weekender and with an impressive line up and slew of activities, it’s set to deliver more than ever.

Accommodation:
Playground Weekender is a camping festival, however, there is a wide selection of accommodation options. On top of BYO-ing your own accommodation facilities (campervans, motor homes, tents etc), pre-erected tents in the tent hotel, tipis and cabins are available to hire. There is also a range of hotels, hostels and B&Bs near by.
