Are you ready for it? A teaser for the 2018 St Kilda Festival has been revealed, with the line-up of the New Music Stage announced.

The New Music Stage provides some of Australia’s hottest new talent with an exciting platform at Australia’s largest free music festival to showcase their music, with the aim to support emerging talent and the growth of the Australian music industry.

Ten emerging acts have been selected to play the New Music Stage on Sunday 11 February. The crowd favourite will be taking home $5,000 and an invitation to play the St Kilda Festival Main Stage in 2019.

Voting opens on Sunday 11 February and closes the following Friday 16 February. Voting will be online via the St Kilda Festival website.

The New Music Stage has hosted some of Australia’s hottest talent in the early stages of their careers including Client Liaison, Missy Higgins, Husky and Stonefield.

The full St Kilda Festival line up and program will be released in January.

The City of Port Phillip is excited to announce the highly anticipated line-up for Australia¹s largest free music festival, the St Kilda Festival on Sunday 11 February 2018. The St Kilda Festival Main Stage will play host to The Jezabels, Dan Sultan, Tkay Maidza, Models, Mia Dyson, Bustamento, Architecture in Helsinki (DJ set) and That Gold Street Sound (2017 New Music Stage Competition Winner). More than 60 of the nation¹s hottest musical talents will perform over seven stages throughout St Kilda with crowds expected to surpass 400,000 on the day.

Proudly produced by the City of Port Phillip, the 38th St Kilda Festival is set to bring an all-Australian music line up alongside a dedicated Kidzone area featuring performances and meet and greets with Hi-5, a kids carnival and cricket workshops with the Melbourne Stars. There will also be a dance zone, parades, carnival rides, food trucks, market stalls and special events hosted by local bars and restaurants.

City of Port Phillip Mayor, Cr Bernadene Voss welcomes the annual Festival in the municipality, with the event providing entertainment for the local community and visitors alike. St Kilda Festival has been a part of our community for over 35 years and is an integral part of our summer celebrations. The event has been the first step towards successful careers for many of Australia¹s most loved artists, and provided a platform for others to be discovered.
