Here are a few new music releases to watch for:

Jaimi Faulkner - ‘Kiss & Ride’ album
Recorded over three months with ARIA award winning engineer Lloyd Barratt (Mia Dyson) at Melbourne’s Sound Park Studios, Kiss & Ride features the addition of backing vocal harmonies and melodies not apparent on previous releases, and the sounds of soul music also added into the mix.
Folk and blues influences are a feature on Kiss & Ride, but listeners will also hear music inspired from the time Jaimi spent in Memphis, visiting Stax Records and immersing himself in the sounds and flavours of Soul music.
The songs on Kiss & Ride relate to themes of love, separation and the highs and lows of a life lived on the road. Album opener Down is about the conflict a musician often feels when juggling dreams of success and happiness in their professional and personal lives.

Ashleigh Mannix - ‘Sparkle’ EP
Hailing from a cultural mix that combines the NSW South Coast and the ACT, Ashleigh Mannix is a singer songwriter who is a fresh face to the Australian music scene. With her care free nature she is combining folk and pop genres to create a unique blend of music that is attracting both local and global attention.

At 20 years of age Ashleigh has already received enviable accolades. Her second EP “Sparkle” is being launched at The Toff In Town, Melbourne on Sunday June 14, 2009. She was recently invited to perform at the relaunch of The Rolling Stone magazine where she was introduced as “unknown and unsigned” performing alongside Neil Finn, Powder Finger and The Living End to a packed Horden Pavilion.

She has performed at local festivals including Woodford, Peats Ridge, Celebrate in the Park & Festival of the Sun. She has also performed extensively overseas including performances in France, Spain, Hawaii and at the prestigious Fuji rock Festival in Japan. She has supported acts including Tim Freedman (the Whitlams), Lior, Ron Sexsmith, Abby Dobson, Toni Childs & Mark Seymour.

Renee’s doing a residency at the Vanguard in Sydney and Manchester Land in Melbourne during June.
