Our website contains a Music Wrap (various events and happenings with bands, DJs, and other music issues. There are sections which comprise reviews of CDs and DVDs, live reviews, as well as artist interviews and festival news. A popular feature is the “What's On - national gig guide” section which has a listing of Australian and International artists touring each State. The database can be sorted in various ways. Following a massively successful Australian tour last year, Alice Russell will return with ‘Pot Of Gold Remixes’ on January 30. Reworking the tracks from 2009’s soul extravaganza, ‘Pot Of Gold’ – recently named Best R&B/Soul Album Of The Year in Sydney Morning Herald – the remix album will feature radical, faithful, and inspired remixes from the likes of Mr. Scruff, DJ Vadim, Shawn Lee, The Heavy, Llorca, Kidkanevil, and Ohmega Watts! Wild Summer '10 features the mixing exploits of two wild and charismatic Australian personalities DJ Gemstar & MC Lady Lauryn. It's another brilliant compilation by the team at WILD which have served up fantastic collections over several years MySpace announced that acclaimed British art-pop sensation Florence and the Machine will be treating Australian MySpace fans to her first ever Australian MySpace gig. Leading clubbing imprint, Goodgreef, unleash 3 CDs of cutting edge ‘Xtra Hard’ dance music, mixed by the scenes’ heavyweight DJs: Lisa Lashes, Showtek and Kutski. The former Mixmag Club Of The Year has been putting on storming parties for the last eight years alongside their own festivals that include Parklife in Scotland, Atomik Weekender and Isle Life in Wales as well as hosting arenas at some of the biggest events in the UK and beyond. Goodgreef has also been vital in helping to launch the careers of many hard dance artists along the way including Eddie Halliwell, Adam Sheridan and Alex Kidd. The legend that is Carl Cox delivers his first Global Underground mix, a seamlessly welded selection of cutting edge techno. It is the real deal and perhaps the toughest GU mix to date. When Carl came on board with GU, there was only one location he had in mind for the mix Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA. Underneath a neon-lit night sky in the desert, Carl Cox unleashed the set that inspired this mix. Carl chose Black Rock Desert because he wanted everybody to know about it. “There’s loads of people out there who have no idea. It’s been going on for 20 years. And I do think there are like-minded people who would like to share my experience. It justifies the release for GU. I hope people see it as genuine.” There are opportunities for advertising and sponsorship, especially to promote an event or artist. There is space available for such exposure. We can place logos, banners, buttons or promotional pictures in order to strengthen the impact of an artist and/or event. Enjoy reading the music section as we'll bring you the best possible coverage of what's happening. Cheers, Carmine |
