To the sound of earth shaking bass rumbling through the ground and air from all possible directions, thousands of youths turned out for the 3rd annual ‘Good Vibrations’ music festival at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. In a display of legs and chests, girls and guys bathed in the glorious 27-degree heat and sunshine and moved to intoxicating grooves by the funkiest and fantastic of talents.

With the day being so hot, many people decided to wait until late in the afternoon when the “major” acts were to perform throughout the evening. This year’s festival offered four stages.

While lacking the star studded line-up pf previous years, artists this year included DJ Peril, Groove Terminator, Dusted London, much anticipated The Cuban Brothers and Dirty Laundry. The venue was divided into four separate areas, in which fans were treated to different styles of music from house and techno, to dance.

Sydney group Sneaky Sound System put on a real performance which got the crowd jumping and air buzzing. Known for their electro-disco-funk style, the energetic boys, DJs Black Angus and Hesse, MC Double D and Tricky Nick, performed a number of feel good tracks, such as ‘Hip Hip Hooray’ which filled seats and caused many to almost dance upon them.

Performing also with the group was stunning and amazingly talented Connie Mitchell, formerly from the band Primary. Her incredible vocal abilities and fun loving nature, wowed audiences. Wearing a pale green gown with matching three-quarter leggings, she appeared as the perfect example of one with a fresh and individual style.

Dirty Laundry made its appearance in BBar, which was constantly full of people dancing along to upbeat anthems. Known as a cross between 2 Many DJS and Basement Jaxx, the guys from Dirty Laundry are enjoying much success and continue rock audiences with their one of a kind style.

One of the highlights was the quirky Cuban Brothers, performing on the main stage. They gave the fans exactly what they wanted with their funky antics, and Latin rhythms. It went down well with the enthusiastic public.

Even though it was a terrific day out for dance fans, punters paid a lot of money and the festival must scout for some top European names that will enable a drawing of big numbers in years ahead.
