:: Thirsty Merc - Queenscliff Surf Life Saving Club - August 2010

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

It was polling day in Australia on August 21 as many headed to the voting booths. In Queenscliff, one of Australia's top bands, Thirsty Merc, decided to crash the Queenscliff Surf Life Saving Club for an early morning performance for Channel V. The band surprised voters and surfers with a V Guerilla Gig. This is the point of a V Guerilla Gig - a live performance when (and where) you least expect it.

The boys, Rai Thistlethwayte, Phil Stack, Matt Smith and Karl Robertson, rocked a killer acoustic performance which included In the Summertime, The Hard Way and Mousetrap Heart, the title track from their new album.

V Guerilla Gigs bring the music to you right when you least expect it. They can happen with any artist, anywhere, anytime! Channel V is all about bringing music to the people and we want to create memorable music experiences - and for those lucky buggers who happen to be in the right place at the right time for these gigs, it’s a musical memory money can’t buy.
