:: Blue Moon Lodge cover all bases with town & country launch

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

Alt-country outfit Dave Walker & The Blue Moon Lodge are gearing up for the launch of their new album Diamonds on The Road. The band has its roots firmly in the Upper Yarra Valley and is at the vanguard of the
thriving music culture springing from the hills to Melbourne’s East.

To celebrate that culture the Blue Moon Lodge are launching Diamonds on The Road at the Upper Yarra Arts Centre’s Mecca Theatre on Saturday, August 30. The following Saturday, September 6, the boys will do it all again with a city launch at The Lomond Hotel in East Brunswick.

Diamonds on the Road is the band’s second studio album and leaves the listener in no doubt as to the musical and creative bonafides of this rockin’ alt-country outfit. They’ll be playing all the tracks off the new CD as well as a few songs from their first self-titled album. Dave Walker said, “It was important that we give people every opportunity to come out and see the show, because we have two distinct fan bases both in the Yarra Valley and in Melbourne, it seemed right that we launch the album twice.”

The new album was produced by Greg Hunt and recorded by Mark Stanley at Red Room Studios in Burwood and mastered by Ross Cockle at Sing Sing.
