:: Children Collide debut album “The Long Now”

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

Hailing from Melbourne, the three piece rock outfit Children Collide (Johnny Mackay guitar / vocals, Heath Crawley bass and Ryan Caesar Drums) has carved their high-energy, tumbling maelstrom of rock mark on every stage they have performed on across the globe. The band exudes such diverse talents, such incredible intensity, and a veritable wall of sound, that it makes it hard to believe there are only three of them. When watching this band play live one thing is undeniable - they command the attention of their audience, who are in turn enraptured and enthralled by their visceral, raw and utterly captivating live show.

Having toured relentlessly for the last few years, and with 2 EPs already under their belt, Children Collide is ready to unleash their debut album The Long Now on October 11. An album that hits so hard is lyrically beautiful and still asks the desired questions. With Dave Sardy (a veteran of such varied sessions as LCD Soundsystem, Wolfmother and Oasis) taking on production overlord duties, the album encompasses the many facets of the band's sound, all the while tying the songs together with a common thread, whether sonic or thematic

In keeping with the central themes of the album, “intrigue and fear when dealing with the unknown…timelessness, exploration and self-discovery coupled with nihilistic universal denial…” , the artwork for this album is extremely unique, mysterious and bizarre. The special limited edition artwork for The Long Now will consist of three different designs, each with a scratch panel that will reveal the three unique sets of art. There is also an extremely limited edition 12” Vinyl with a scratch panel revealing yet another version of the artwork. The vinyl also comes with a coupon to download the record for free in mp3 form.

Check the band's website for how to obtain an exclusive mini EP for free too. There is also the latest news and tour information.
