:: Earth Hour music event at the Melbourne Zoo

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

The Melbourne Zoo in itself is quite a magical place to be indeed. Add candlelight, live Australian music and a heart-warming sense of community and you’ve got yourself something unforgettable.

Sentimentality aside, it’s going to be a big gig with You Am I’s Tim Rogers, EG Award-winning Wagons and globe-trotting Blackchords on Saturday March 27 at the Zoo. Plus, gates open at 5:30pm so you can cruise around select exhibits before the music kicks in at 6:30pm.

Earth Hour started in Sydney a few years back now and has grown exponentially with hundreds of millions of people getting involved. From 8:30pm to 9:30pm, the world turns off the lights as a call to action against global warming. So flick off those switches at home and join the Melbourne Zoo’s carbon off-set Earth Hour Unplugged on the Rug.

Tickets are now on sale here
