:: Iriver begins monster talent searchBy: Carmine Pascuzziiriver are returning to the studio with a monster competition designed to unleash a thrilling new batch of young Australian talent. Following the success of local indie group Dukes of Windsorʼs smash hit single ʻThe Othersʼ in 2007 (a venture proudly funded and supported by iriver) the creative cultivators at iriver and talent scouts at Taboo are chomping at the bit as they prepare to launch a competition to discover the next batch of budding video music directors and musicians. Malcolm Kennedy, Managing Director of CR Kennedy the official Australian distributors of iriver said, “The brandʼs priority has always been to give something back to the audiences who have supported us. That's why iriver are keen to get their hunting caps on and begin the search for the next breed of creative genius. Itʼs what fans have come to appreciate and expect from iriver; an innovative brand that supports music junkies to do what they like.” So here it is, a search with a difference, and a competition based around a monster name ʻHaroldʼ. Harold wasnʼt always a monster, but became one by trying so hard to fit in that he stopped being himself and became just like everyone else. He is the poster boy for an initiative that encourages participants to think outside of the box and submit entries with a difference. If youʼre curious about Harold and want to know what itʼs all about, donʼt do the hokey-pokey, just log onto the website which is launching on August 1 and have a little read, itʼs an interesting story. Entries close on November 5, and a monster party will be held on November 12 to announce the winners in both the music and video clip category that will then be produced and used in a national advertising campaign for the new iriver E100 unit. Further information about the competition, products, opportunities and prizes will all be available on the website so keep your eyes and ears open, as we prepare to witness the birth of something truly new and different. The iriver E100 is now available in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB at JB Hi Fi stores nationally. Prices begin at $99. |
