:: New songwriting duo - Law Of Numbers

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

What started out as a home studio musical experiment has now achieved international recognition and exposure for Law of Numbers, the moniker for Melbourne songwriters and producers Jem Carp and Dan Karni. Their debut single “Superstar” will be played in an upcoming episode of the new Jerry Bruckheimer-produced CBS TV drama Miami Medical commencing in the US in April (and will premiere on the Nine Network in Australia in the second half of the year).

Famously, UK band Snow Patrol broke America overnight when their song “Chasing Cars” appeared on Grey’s Anatomy in 2006. “What better way to reach a mass audience than to have our first single played on a Bruckheimer TV drama” says Jem Carp.

Carp & Karni wrote, produced and recorded their debut EP, Shadows in 2009 with guest singer Emilie Gassin (France). Their music video clip for single “Superstar” has been played on ABC’s Rage, Foxtel’s Music Max, with a remix reaching #4 on the KISS FM chart and remained in the top 10 most downloaded tracks on Dance Music Hub for a month. The single was also globally selected for Apple iPhone’s first DJ application, Touch DJ.

Carp & Karni are now looking to collaborate with established artists for further releases and are currently in discussions with publishers, artists and TV networks both locally and overseas.
