:: Mink announced for Fuji Rock Festival

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

Sydney/New York City based punk rockers Mink have been invited to grace the stage of this years Fuji Rock Festival.

Fuji Rock Festival is an annual rock festival organised by Smash Japan, held in Naeba, Japan. The 3 day event features Japanese and international
musicians performing on 7 different stages. Past years have had more than 150,000 people attended the festival. The Green stage is the main stage and
it has a capacity for more than 30,000 spectators. Other stages include the White Stage, the Red Marquee, Orange Court, and Field of Heaven.

The punk rock quartet have been making quite a name since their whirlwind beginnings where they jumped straight into a studio demo¹d and recorded 30
songs with Ms Silvia Massy ( Tool, SOAD, Cog). From there it was touring with Kiss, Angels and Airwaves and Perry Farrell's Satellite Party. Mink have released their self titled album to great reviews in the USA and Japan, and plans are afoot to release and tour Australia in mid 2008.

Mink's first performance in Japan will see them sharing the stage with My Bloody Valentine, Underworld, Ian Brown and this is just the first artist announcement!

Other key artists that have graced the Fuji stages include The Cure, Beastie Boys, Iggy Pop, Muse and Chemical Brothers.
