:: Muse releases new album and set to tour Europe

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

One of the biggest bands in the world, Muse, have released their new album ‘The Resistance’. Their debut album ‘Showbiz’ caused a stir on its release in 1998. Just under a decade later, Muse would fulfil this promise by selling out Wembley. Thousands upon thousands of fans gathered to witness a unique moment as the outcasts became Britain‘s biggest group. Matt Bellamy's soaring voice combined with the group's sheer muscular energy make Muse one of the most sensational live acts on the planet. The band captured the Wembley shows for posterity on the DVD 'Haarp’ which offered a glimpse behind the scenes at the spectacular event.

Muse have not released a new album since ‘Black Holes And Revelations’ in 2006. The band have been working on new material for some time, retreating to a recording studio in Italy to escape the hype. In a recent interview the band claimed to be inspired by classical composers on their new album. Hardly surprising, really, given the soaring, anthemic nature of their music. In a web chat with fans, singer Matt Bellamy said “as a large percentage of the composition is orchestral, I have never wanted to collaborate with a string arranger as they may make it ‘theirs’. So I have been arranging the orchestral elements myself which is taking a long time due to my inexperience with large scale scoring. It should hopefully make the next album as the final three tracks.”
