:: Paper Champion release their digital single 'Arrested' for free

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

Following on from an electric performance at the Come Together Festival over the Queen‘s Birthday weekend, Sydney four-piece Paper Champion have now released their brand new single, 'Arrested’. In a move new to the band, ‘Arrested’ will only be available online and will cost fans absolutely nothing to own.

The song is a further evolution of Paper Champion‘s sound, with the band incorporating a myriad of instruments to sculpt music which pushes the conceived boundaries of alternative rock. 'Arrested’ was recorded with producer Chris Gray in Sydney's Greylabel Studios.

‘Arrested’ is the latest release from the band whose 2007 self-titled EP has been receiving continual rare reviews from critics in Australia and abroad since its release in November. The two singles from the EP, the ambient ‘Undone’ and the raucuous ‘Teeth’, both gained strong support from community and independent radio stations around Australia and internet radio stations.

Aside from being invited to play at Australia's most prestigious hard rock festival, Paper Champion have also shared the stage in 2008 with Brisbane art rockers The Red Paintings, which follows on from a string of high profile supports in 2007 including Birds of Tokyo, Mammal and Dead Letter Circus.

See Paper Champion launch the single on Thursday, July 10 at the Oxford Tavern, Wollongong.
