:: Pink Martini doing it for Cherry Ripe

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

They've performed with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and at the Museum Of Modern Art, they've shared stages with the likes of Elton John and Ringo Starr, they've sold more than 1.3 million albums worldwide, and they’ve charmed audiences across Australia during a massively successful tour earlier this year. Now, the truly global sensation that are Pink Martini are back in the spotlight again, with their seductive track “Let's Never Stop Falling in Love” appearing in a brand new TV commercial for Cherry Ripe.

Taken from their 2005 debut ‘Hang On Little Tomato’, “Let's Never Stop Falling in Love” is a sultry yet elegant showstopper, which perfectly encapsulates Pink Martini’s distinctive style. Blending 1930’s Cuban dance orchestra, classical chamber music, Japanese film noir, golden-era Hollywood, French cabaret, Cuban rumba, pop, lounge, gypsy and jazz, Pink Martini stunned critics last year with the release of their latest album ‘Hey Eugene’ and dazzled fans around Australia with their subsequent tour in early 2008. The group attracted even more attention earlier this year, when vocalist China Forbes (pictured) released her long-awaited solo debut ‘78’, featuring a stirring mixture of alt country, rock, folk and pop.
