:: Steinway Lyngdorf launces world's first digital sound systems in Australia

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

Steinway Lyngdorf has launched its ultra-prestigious Steinway & Sons Model D Music System in Australia. The Model D Music System is the world’s first fully-integrated, digital music system. Designed primarily for the home as well as for prestigious commercial properties, the system delivers an outstanding reproduction of music akin to a live performance or symphony orchestra in concert.

It is developed and manufactured by Steinway Lyngdorf, an innovative new collaboration between Steinway & Sons, the renowned maker of the world’s finest pianos, and Peter Lyngdorf, Europe’s pre-eminent audio visionary.

The Model D Music System set a new benchmark for audio excellence on its worldwide commercial release in September 2007. It has launched to universal acclaim at a series of intimate, by-invitation-only events across the world’s style capitals, including Singapore, New York, Monaco, Dubai, London and Hong Kong.

Each Model D Music System takes more than eight weeks to create; its twin speakers alone painstakingly crafted through more than 170 hours of precision machining. The system incorporates an advanced version of Steinway Lyngdorf’s revolutionary RoomPerfect, a 3-dimensional acoustical mapping technology which enables the System to adapt to the acoustic characteristics of any listening environment to ensure extraordinary sound quality. A highly trained technician will ‘voice’ the RoomPerfect technology to achieve optimal performance for every installation.

The sleek and contemporary design and black lacquer finish give the Model D Music System the same distinctive Steinway & Sons lacquering as found on the world’s best pianos. The signature Model D Music System which is finished in classic black piano lacquer is priced from US$188,000 (excluding local taxes, duties). Custom finishes, including the Smoked Oak/Chrome finish, featured for the first time at the Sydney launch, are available to address client’s personal preferences and décor tastes.

In Australia, Steinway Lyngdorf’s newly appointed distributor is Advance Audio Australia (AAA). AAA retails Steinway Lyngdorf’s music systems through its affiliate, Audio Connection. A dedicated Steinway Lyngdorf showroom is at 137 Victoria Road, Drummoyne, Sydney.
Personal listening sessions are available at the showroom, by appointment only. For appointments and more product information, contact: Adam Merlino, Audio Connection, Phone: 02 9561 0777
