The Twilights Concert Series is back again – bigger and better than ever! Zoo Twilights 2012 will kick off a series of events as part of Melbourne Zoo's 150th Anniversary Celebrations. The superb line-up of some of Australia's favourite artists amid the magical setting of the Zoo under the stars should not be missed! Whatever your musical tastes, there's something for everyone at Zoo Twilights this summer.

This season, Zoo Twilights will feature some of the hottest upcoming talent around along with the best of Australia’s entertainers and old faithfuls, including Washington, Kate Ceberano, The Beautiful Girls, James Morrison, Marcia Hines, James Reyne, Daryl Braithwaite, Vanessa Amorosi, Lior, Gurrumal, and Joe Camilleri & The Black Sorrows.


Saturday January 21 – Washington
We are very excited to open the Twilight season with ARIA Award winning, Washington. Megan Washington’s music has captivated audiences all over Australia with her debut album ‘I Believe You Liar’ awarded Platinum status in 2010. Don’t miss Washington at the spectacular location of Melbourne Zoo this Twilights season.

Sunday January 22 - James Morrison Quintet, with Paul Williamsons Hammond Combo

Saturday January 28 - Kate Ceberano; with Jade MacRae

Saturday February 11 - The Beautiful Girls; with The Fearless Vampire Killers
The iconic Australian rock band, The Beautiful Girls from the New South Wales coast, perform their own eclectic mix of laid back rock, reggae, roots, folk and pop sounds making this band a popular choice for Zoo Twilights.

Sunday February 12 - Marcia Hines
Marcia Hines, the First Lady of Song is arguably one of Australia’s most popular female pop stars. Hailing originally from Boston, Hines moved to Australia at the age of 17 on a six-month contact but ended up staying to raise her daughter Deni. After 30years in the business, Hines still holds the title of the Queen of Pop and was recently inducted in the ARIA Hall of Fame.

Saturday February 18 - James Reyne & Band & Daryl Braithwaite

Sunday February 26 – Wendy Stapleton Swingin’ 60s
Melbourne Zoo is pleased towelcome back Wendy Stapleton for another night of go-go dancing and ‘60s hits. The Swingin’ Sixties showcases songs from icons such as The Supremes, Cilla Black, Petula Clark and Dusty Springfield. Join us and step back into an era of miniskirts, beehives and go-go dancing under the stars at Melbourne Zoo!

Saturday March 3 – Lior
Australia-based singer and songwriter Lior is a talented guitarist and singer. His sound is defined by the combination of a contemporary roots sound with many Israeli / Middle East and Jewish influences. Lior released his first album, Autumn Flow, in 2005 and has been nominated for a handful of awards - including nods from the J Award and the ARIA Awards.

Saturday March 10 – Gurrumul; with Dewayne Everettsmith
We’re very excited to have Gurrumul join us for our Twilights Concert Series. What better way to enjoythis unique take on Gumatj clan stories, as he sublimely adapts them into contemporary song styles. Gurrumul has come into his own style, with his 2008 inaugural album debuting at the number one position on Australia's ARIA independent charts.

Sunday March 11 - Joe Camilleri & The Black Sorrows; with Vika & Linda Bull
Fronted by Joe Camilleri, the Black Sorrows formed in 1983 and are remembered for their hits ‘Hold On To Me’, ‘Chained to the Wheel’, ‘Harley and Rose’ and ‘Snake Skin Shoes’. The ever-changing line up of the band has ensured that that the band is a melting pot of Aussie talent. For Zoo Twilights, long time Black Sorrows vocalists,Vika and Linda Bull, will join Camilleri as support.
